Kinh Chao Co Kim Ha,
It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve been back and not a single day has gone by that I haven’t thought about what a blessing the trip was and how grateful I am. Thank you for responding to Blessed Mother's call & coordinating such wonderful trip. You are a true witness to Christ and I see your passion for The Lord and how your pilgrimages has born great fruits. It was such a blessing for me to be a part of the pilgrimage and be able to meet such great and devoted people. I was in awe of the willingness of everyone to pray for one another and how God’s love enabled us to get along in such unity. It made me so happy when I saw or heard a testimony from someone in the group about their personal experiences. I wanted others to experience the same sense of joy that I get. Medjugorje is a place I wish everyone could experience because once you go there, you don’t return as the same person. It’s as if you take a piece of heaven and share it with those back home. The talks given by the guest speakers really touched me because I was able to personally relate to each of the messages. When I was listening to Natasha’s talk, I related to her situation in terms of living in a society where material possessions and false friendships take priority over God. As a young person living in a materialistic world, you go to school for many years, then work so hard to acquire material goods that you mistakenly think that it will bring happiness. However, that is a false sense of happiness. That is a false sense of fulfillment and it lasts for a very short amount of time and you feel empty very soon after. Only God can fulfill us. Father Slvec’s talk was very beautiful; I remembered he said that we live in a service oriented society where we want to find answers to everything. We try to find answers because we want to avoid the suffering/the crosses. So instead of constantly seeking answers, we need to say, “Lord I don’t know, but I’m ready.” Just like Blessed Mother did. Nancy, also made a great comment about the protection of Blessed Mother does not mean it will eliminate us from crosses and hardships in our life. In Medjugorje, I am able to find true peace that is only acquired by surrendering to God and placing him as a priority in my life. I learned the gift of simplicity, being not afraid, and the healing power of a smile. Please pray for my family as I continue to pray for you and your loved ones.
