Kinh nguyện được Ðức Giáo Hoàng Piô IX phê chuẩn
Thánh nữ Brigitta (1303 - 1373) là ái nữ quận công Birger. Quả phụ của Tiểu Vương Unphô. Hàng năm lễ kính Thánh nữ vào ngày 8 tháng 10. Ngày 14-6-1303, lúc Brigitta chào đời, linh mục Benoit, Chánh xứ Rasbo, đang cầu nguyện, bỗng được áng mây sáng láng bao phủ, Ðức Trinh Nữ xuất hiện và phán: "Một công chúa được sinh ra cho Birger, tiếng nàng sẽ được cả thế giới nghe theo."

Những kinh nguyện và những lời hứa này được ấn hành trong quyển sách tại Toulouse nước Pháp năm 1740, do Cha Adrien Parvilliers Dòng Tên, thừa sai ở Thánh Ðịa, được sự công nhận, ban phép và cổ võ phổ biến.
Phụ huynh và thầy cô đọc những kinh nguyện này cho em bé trong vòng ít nhất 1 năm sẽ bảo vệ con em khỏi tai nạn làm hư hỏng ngũ quan.
Ðức Pio IX đã đọc những bản KINH NGUYỆN cùng các ơn hứa này, và phê chuẩn ngày 31-5-1862 công nhận là đúng sự thực và hữu ích cho giáo dân.
Lời của Ðức Thánh Cha Pio IX đã được xác định qua những chứng nhân về những lời hứa của những người đã đọc những Kinh Nguyện này và vô số những bằng chứng siêu tự nhiên mà Chúa đã chứng tỏ cho thấy tính xác thực của nó. Một thu thập những tập sách nhỏ về những Kinh Nguyện này được chứng nhận trong công đồng Malines ngày 22 tháng 8 năm 1863.
Bạn có thể quên đọc chỉ một vài lần vì lý do quan trong mà không mất sự hứa hẹn Chúa ban cho. Mặt dầu bị gián đoạn nhưng phải đọc đủ 5480 Kinh trong 1 năm. Phải đọc với lòng tôn sùng và tập trung vào từng chữ trong kinh.
Du khách viếng thăm nhà thờ Thánh Phêrô ở Roma sẽ nhìn thấy thượng Thánh Giá, phía trên một Mặt Nhật trong nhà nguyện Blessed Sacrament, một bức điêu khắc của điêu khắc gia Pierre Cavallini, phía trước đó là Thánh Bridget quỳ gối khi Ngài nhận 15 kinh nguyện từ Chúa. Những lời sau đây được viết trong nhà thờ để tưởng nhớ biến cố này: ‘Pendentis, Pendente Dei verba accepit aure accipit et verbum corde Brigitta Deum. Anno Jubilei MCCCL’ , nhắc nhớ sự kiện phi thường này.
Thánh nữ Bridget ao ước được biết bao nhiêu roi đòn Chúa đã chịu trong cuộc khổ nạn của Ngài, Chúa đã hiện ra và nói: ‘Ta đã nhận 5480 roi đòn trên thân xác Ta. Nếu con muốn tôn vinh chúng, hãy đọc 15 kinh Lạy Cha, 15 kinh Kính Mừng và những lời nguyện Ta sẽ dạy cho con sau đây trong vòng một năm. Sau một năm thì con đã tôn vinh mỗi vết thương trên thân mình Ta.’
Chúa hứa ban cho những ai đọc những kinh nguyện này trong vòng một năm:
II- Lời Hứa:
1. Ta sẽ cứu 15 linh hồn trong dòng họ ra khỏi Luyện Ngục.
2. 15 người trong dòng họ sẽ được vững vàng và bền đổ trong ơn nghĩa Chúa.
3. 15 người tội lỗi trong dòng họ được ăn năn trở lại.
4. Người nào đọc KINH NGUYỆN này sẽ đạt đến bậc nhất trên đường trọn lành.
5. 15 ngày trước khi chết, kẻ ấy sẽ được ban cho Thánh Thể Ta để khỏi đói đời đời, và Bửu Huyết Ta để khỏi khác muôn thuỏ.
6. 15 ngày trước khi chết người đó sẽ biết hết sức rõ ràng mọi tội lỗi đã phạm để thống hối trọn hảo.
7. Ta sẽ đạt Thánh Giá toàn thắng của Ta trước mặt kẻ ấy để làm thành trì giúp đở chống mọi cạm bẩy kẻ thù.
8. Trước giờ chết Chúa và Mẹ rất yêu dấu sẽ đến.
9. Ta sẽ đến đón linh hồn kẻ ấy, và đưa vào nơi hạnh phúc vĩnh cửu.
10. Ðến nơi Ta sẽ ban cho suối nguồn Ơn Sủng mà Ta sẽ không ban cho những ai không đọc bản kinh này.
11. Những ai sống 30 năm trong tội lỗi, nhưng đọc kinh này với cả tấm lòng, hay có ý định đọc kinh này, Ta sẽ tha thứ cho họ mọi tội lỗi.
12. Ta sẽ bảo vệ họ khỏi những cám dỗ mạnh mẽ.
13. Ta sẽ giữ gìn và canh giữ ngũ quan họ.
14. Ta sẽ giữ gìn họ cho khỏi chết bất đắc kỳ tử.
15. Linh hồn họ sẽ được cứu khỏi án chết đời đời.
16. Kẻ ấy sẽ được ban cho bất cứ điều gì xin cùng Chúa và Mẹ Maria.
17. Nếu kẻ ấy sống cả đời theo ý riêng mình thì đến ngày chết họ sẽ kéo dài đời sống họ thêm nữa.
18. Mỗi khi đọc những kinh này họ nhận được 100 ngày ân xá.
19. Họ được tham dự vào hàng ngũ tối cao của các Thiên Thần.
20. Ai chỉ dạy cho người khác kinh này sẽ được niềm vui và phần thưởng đời đời.
21. Ở nơi nào Kinh này được đọc, Thiên Chúa sẽ hiện diện với nguồn Thánh sủng.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu Kitô, là sự êm dịu cho người kính mến Chúa, là nguồn vui vượt mọi vui thích ước mơ. Là ơn cứu độ và hy vọng của tội nhân. Chúa đã chứng tỏ không gì thỏa mãn lòng Chúa cho bằng giữa loài người, đến nỗi tới thời đã định Chúa đã mặc xác phàm vì yêu chúng con. Xin Chúa nhớ lại biết bao gian khổ Chúa đã chịu từ khi thụ thai tới cuộc tử nạn, như Thánh ý Chúa Cha an bài từ thuở đời đời. Xin Chúa nhớ lại trong bữa tiệc ly với các môn đệ. Sau khi rửa chân cho họ, Cha đã ban Mình Cực Thánh và Máu Châu Báu, và Chúa dịu dàng yên ủi, rồi báo trước cuộc tử nạn sắp tới của Chúa. Xin nhớ lại biết bao phiền sầu lo âu Chúa chịu trong tâm hồn, Chúa đã đi cầu nguyện 3 lần ướt đẫm mồ hôi máu và Chúa đã phải thốt lên: "Linh hồn Thầy buồn sầu đến chết được!." (Mt.26,28)
Xin nhớ lại biết bao đau đớn thống khổ Chúa chịu trên thân mình trước khi thụ hình thập giá, Chúa bị Giuda môn đệ phản bội, bị dân riêng Chúa chọn và ưu đãi bắt trói, bị nhân chứng giả vu cáo, bị 3 tòa án lên án bất công, khi tuổi thanh xuân trong đại lễ Vượt Quạ Xin nhớ lại, Chúa bị lột trần khoác áo chế diễu, bị bịt mắt, bị vả mặt, bị đội mũ gai, tay cầm cây sậy, bị trói vào cột đá, bị đánh đòn nứt nẻ thịt da, bị xúc phạm ê chề nhục nhã. Lạy Chúa vì nhớ lại những thống khổ Chúa chịu trước khi bị đóng đinh thật giá. Xin ban cho con: trước giờ chết được thật lòng xám hối, xưng hết tội lỗi, đền tội xứng đáng. Ðược ơn tha thứ hết mọi tội khiêm. Amen.
"Giờ đây, đối với những ai liên kết với Ðức Giêsu Kitô những ai không sống với tính tự nhiên loài người, thì không còn vấn đề lên án nữa." (Rm. 8,1)

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là niềm vui của các Thiên Thần, là Thiên Ðàng hoan lạc, xin Chúa nhớ lại sự buồn phiền kinh hãi Chúa chịu, khi quân dữ như đàn sư tử hung dữ vây quanh Chúa, đua nhau hành hạ Chúa bằng những lời chửi mắng, phỉ nhổ, đánh đập và nhiều khổ hình chưa từng nghe nói. Lạy Chúa cứu thế, vì những hình khổ, những xúc phạm sỉ nhục ấy, xin Chúa cứu thoát con thoát khỏi mọi quân thù hữu hình và vô hình. Dưới bóng che chở của Chúa, xin đem con tới nơi hạnh phúc muôn đời. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu, Ðấng tạo thành trời đất. Không ai thu hẹp nổi hoặc đặt giới hạn cho Chúa được. Vì Chúa là Ðấng bao gồm và điều khiển vũ trụ, trong quyền năng Chúa. Xin nhớ lại những cực hình Chúa chịu, khi quân Do Thái trói chân tay thanh khiết và dịu hiền vào Thánh Giá. Ðóng đinh to thâu qua. Khi làm khổ chưa vừa ý hung hãn của chúng. Bởi lòng ác độc khôn tả. Chúng còn hè nhau làm toác rộng vết thương, làm giãn các khớp xương, để càng chồng chất thêm đau đớn bằng cách dọng thánh giá xuống, hoặc lôi kéo tứ phía, để sức nặng thân hình trì xệ xuống gây đau đớn khôn tả. Lạy Chúa, nhân vì những cực hình rùng rợn trên Thánh Giá, xin Chúa ban cho con: lòng kính sợ và yêu mến tận tình. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là Thầy thuốc bởi trời mà Chúa đã chịu treo trên Thánh Giá, để cứu chữa vết thương tội lỗi chúng con bằng chính vết thương Chúa. Xin Chúa nhớ lại mọi phần thân thể Chúa bị bầm dập, nhừ nát không nơi nào nguyên vẹn, đến nỗi không đau đớn nào sánh ví được. Từ bàn chân đến đỉnh đầu, không nơi nào không bị hành hạ. Nhưng quên mọi đớn đau, Chúa hằng cầu xin Chúa Cha cho kẻ hành hạ mình: "Lạy Cha, xin tha cho họ, vì họ không biết việc họ làm". Nhân vì lòng nhân hậu cao cả đó và khi tưởng niệm đến cuộc tử nạn thảm thương ấy; Xin Chúa cho con được ăn năn tội cách trọn và được ơn tha thứ tội lỗi. Amen.
"Nào Thiên Chúa của người đòi hỏi ngươi điều gì khác, ngoài việc phải kính sợ Chúa, đi theo đường lối Chúa chỉ dạy, và yêu mến phượng thờ Chúa hết hạ hết lòng". (Ðệ II Luật 10, 12)

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là gương phản chiếu ánh sáng ngàn đời. Xin nhớ lại nỗi buồn phiền khi Chúa nhìn thấy trong ánh sáng Thiên Tính Chúa: Có những kẻ được cứu rỗi nhờ công ơn Cứu độ, và còn vô số bị đày sa hỏa ngục vì tội lỗi họ. Chúa đã cảm thương nhiều, vì số người hư mất và thất vọng ấy. Lạy Chúa Giêsu dịu hiền, vì lượng từ bi lân tuất thẳm sâu của Chúa, nhất là lòng nhân hậu đối với người trộm lành; khi Chúa phán: "Hôm nay người sẽ được ở cùng Ta trên Thiên Ðàng". Xin Chúa cũng khoan dung nhân hậu đối với con như vậy khi con hấp hối ly trần. Amen.
"Hãy sống theo thần trí, và anh em sẽ không còn thỏa mãn những đam mê xác thịt nữa, vì xác thịt thì ước muốn nghịch cùng thần trí. Còn thần trí lại nghịch cùng xác thịt: đôi bên kình địch nhau, khiến anh em không làm được điều anh em muốn".(Gal. 5, 16. 17. 25)

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là Vua rất đáng mến và đáng ước mong. Xin nhớ lại sự đau khổ Chúa chịu khi bị đóng đanh treo trên thập giá trần trụi như kẻ phạm hèn. Hàng thân thích đều trốn bỏ trừ Mẹ rất yêu dấu Chúa vẫn kiên trung bên Chúa trong cuộc tử nạn. Người Mẹ mà Chúa trối lại cho môn đệ tín nghĩa: "Thưa Mẹ đây là con Mẹ", đoạn phán với Gioan: "Ðây là Mẹ con." Lạy Chúa cứu chuộc con. Nhân vì lưỡi giáo đau thương thâu qua lòng Mẹ rất thánh của Chúa khi ấy. Xin Chúa thương xót con trong mọi cơn gian khổ xác hồn. Xin cứu giúp con trong mọi gian nan thử thách, nhất là trong giờ lâm tử. Amen.
"Tôi đã cùng chịu đóng đinh với Ðức Kitô vào thập giá. Thế nên tôi có sống, thì không phải là tôi sống; nhưng là Ðức Kitô sống trong tôi". (Ga 2, 19)

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là suối từ bi vô tận. Vì tấm lòng Chúa thương yêu vô ngần, nên từ trên Thánh Giá Chúa đã thốt ra: "Ta khát", Chúa khát khao phần rỗi nhân loại. Lạy Chúa cứu chuộc con. Khẩn cầu Chúa thiêu đốt lòng con khao khát đạt tới đời sống trọn lành; và xin dập tắt mọi lửa tình dục và những đam mê thế tục trong lòng chúng con. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là sự êm dịu cho mọi tâm hồn. Nhân vì mật đắng giấm chua Chúa nếm trên Thánh Giá vì yêu thương chúng con. Xin ban cho chúng con được ơn rước Mình Máu rất châu báu Chúa cách xứng đáng, khi còn sống và trong giờ chết, để nên linh dược chữa bệnh, nên nguồn an ủi cho linh hồn chúng con. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu anh dũng tuyệt vời, là nguồn vui lòng trí. Xin nhớ lại thống khổ Chúa chịu khi gần sinh thì. Tâm hồn tràn ngập đắng cay vì bị dân Do Thái sỉ nhục xúc phạm Chúa lên tiếng kêu than dường như bị Chúa Cha từ bỏ: "Lạy Cha, Lạy Cha, Cha bỏ con sao?" Lạy Chúa cứu chuộc con nhân vì sự phiều sầu đó, con nài xin Chúa chớ bỏ con phải hãi hùng đau đớn trong giờ lâm tử. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là khởi đầu và kết thúc, Chúa là nguồn sống và dũng lực. Xin Chúa nhớ lại vì chúng con mà toàn thân Chúa, từ đầu tới chân bị tràn ngập đau thương. Nhân vì sự cao cả do những thương tích Chúa. Xin dạy con biết vui lòng và trung thành giữ trọn vẹn luật Chúa. Lề luật này là đường dẫn đưa đến gặp Chúa nó rất êm đềm cho mọi người yêu mến Chúa. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu vô cùng lân tuất. Xin vì những thương tích Chúa đã chịu thấu tới xương tủy tâm can. Xin Chúa lôi kéo con đã bị đắm chìm trong phản nghịch. Xin đem con ra khỏi vòng tội lỗi, lại đem con vào ẩn náu trong những vết thương của Chúa để tránh Nhan Thánh uy nghiêm và phép công thẳng Chúa cho tới khi nào Chúa ngơi cơn thịnh nộ. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là gương chân lý, là dấu chỉ hiệp nhất, là giây bác ái. Xin Chúa nhớ lại vô vàn đau thương Chúa chịu: Toàn thân tan nát đầm đìa máu đào khả kính. Ôi! đau thương khốn cực xiết bao! Chúa đã chịu vì yêu thương chúng con. Ôi Chúa Giêsu dịu hiền! Có gì làm được mà Chúa chưa làm cho chúng con? Lạy Chúa cứu độ. Xin lấy máu Châu Báu in mọi vết thương Chúa vào lòng con, để luôn luôn con đọc thấy mọi thống khổ và Tình Yêu Chúa. Chớ gì nhờ sự luôn tưởng nhớ công ơn tử nạn Chúa mà tâm hồn con được đổi mới, Ðức Mến ngày càng tăng tiến; cho đến khi nào con về với Chúa là Hoan Lạc là Hạnh Phúc mà con xin Chúa ban cho con trên cõi trường sinh. Amen.
"Ai ở trong Ðức Kitô là một tạo vật mới. Những gì cũ đã qua đi, nay mọi sự đều trở nên mới". (2 Cor. 5. 17)

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là nguồn sức mạnh vô song, là Ðấng toàn thắng và hằng sống. Xin nhớ lại sự đau đớn Chúa chịu đến tàn hơi kiệt sức, Chúa gục đầu và phán: "Ðã hoàn tất mọi sự". Lạy Chúa Giêsu, vì sự buồn phiền và đau thương ấy. Xin Chúa thương xót con trong giờ lâm chung khi tâm trí con bối rối lo âu, khi tâm hồn con hãi hùng khiếp sợ. Amen.

Lạy Chúa Giêsu, Con Một Chúa Cha, là ánh sáng huy hoàng có bản tính nhân loại. Xin Chúa nhớ lại lời phó thác thiết tha khiêm hạ. Chúa kêu lên Chúa Cha: "Lạy Cha, con phó linh hồn trong tay Cha". Ðoạn Chúa sinh thì khi toàn thân nhừ nát, trái tim hầu tan vỡ vì lòng yêu thương mở rộng để cứu chuộc chúng con. Ôi! Vua Cả Thần Thánh. Xin vì sự chết cực châu báu này. Xin Chúa tiếp trợ giúp chúng con, hầu chiến thắng được ma quỉ thế gian, xác thịt, để con chết cho tội lỗi và chỉ sống cho mình Chúa thôi. Trong giờ lâm tử, xin Chúa đón nhận con lưu đày xa quê trở về với Chúa. Amen. "Thiên Chúa có thể dùng quyền năng đang hoạt động nơi ta, mà làm gấp ngàn lần điều ta dám cầu xin hay nghĩ tới. Nguyện chúc Ngài được vinh quang trong Hội Thánh và nơi Ðức Giêsu Kitô đến muôn ngàn đời" (Êph. 3, 20)

Lạy Chúa Giêsu là cây nho tốt tươi sai trái. Xin Chúa nhớ lại những dòng máu từ xác chí thánh Chúa, quảng đại tuôn ra chan hòa như nho trong máy ép và từ cạnh nương long do lưỡi đòng tên lính đâm thấu: Chúa đã ban hết máu, nước không còn lại giọt nào. Sau hết như bó mộc được treo trên thập giá rũ rượt, Thánh Thể Chúa rã rời, máu nước chảy cạn, xương tủy héo khô, Lạy Chúa Giêsu từ bi lân tuất! Vì công ơn tử nạn thảm thương nầy và những dòng máu đổ ra chan hòa. Xin Chúa đón nhận linh hồn con trong giờ hấp hối ly trần. Amen. "Anh em chung chịu sự thương khó Chúa Kitô bao nhiêu, thì hãy vui mừng bấy nhiêu để đến ngày vinh hiển của Ngài tỏ hiện, thì anh em được vui mừng và hoan hỉ." (Pr. 4, 13)

PRAYERS ARE APPROVED
Pope Urban VI (1378-1389) encouraged the multiplication of written copies of the Revelations of St. Bridget, for there were no printing presses at that time. The Magnificent Prayers were copied from a book printed in Toulouse in 1740, and published by Fr. Adrien Parvilliers of the Society of Jesus, Missionary Apostolic of the Holy Land. He had approbation, permission and recommendation to spread the devotion.
The books containing these prayers have been approved by a great number of prelates, among them His Eminence Cardinal F. J. Giraud of Cambria in 1845, and Archbishop Florian of Toulouse in 1863. Blessed Pope Pius IX on May 31. 1862, blessed The Revelations of St. Bridget. The great Congress of Malines recommended the prayers on August 22, 1863. Pope Benedict XV (1914-1922) expressed himself as follows on the Revelations of St. Bridget: "The approbation of such revelations implies nothing more than, after mature examination, it is permissible to publish them for the unit of the faithful. Though they don't merit the same credence as the truths of religion, one can however, believe them out of human faith, conforming to the rules of prudence by which they are probable, and supported by sufficient motives that one might believe in them piously."

SAINT BRIDGET OF SWEDEN
On the 14th of June, 1303, the moment Bridget was born. Benedict, the curate of Rasbo, prayed for the happy deliverance of Ingeborde. Suddenly he found himself enveloped by a luminous cloud out of which Our Lady appeared and said: "A child has been born at Birger; her voice will be heard by the entire world."

St. Brigitte or St. Bridget, daughter of Birgir, royal blood prince of Sweden, was born of highly pious parents. Having lost her virtuous mother soon after birth, little Bridget was brought up by one of her highly virtuous aunts. She could not speak before the age of three, but as soon as she spoke, she began praising God. In early childhood serious discourses pleased her, and grace powerfully filled her heart so that only pious readings attracted her.
At the age of ten she was particularly touched by a sermon she heard on the Passion of Our Lord. The following night she believed that she saw Our Lord nailed to the cross and all covered with blood and wounds. At the same time she heard a voice saying: "Look upon Me, My daughter." "O Dear Lord," asked St. Bridget, "who has treated You so cruelly?" Our Lord replied: "Those who despise Me and are insensible to My Love for tfiem.'That mysterious dream left so deep an impression on her that, from then on, she continually meditated on the sufferings of Our Lord Jesus Christ, which drove her to tears.
At the age of 15, through obedience, she was married to Prince Ulf, a very pious young man, and they had eight children. One of her daughters became St. Catherine of Sweden.
St. Bridget's example more than her instructions sanctified her large family. Her revelations and other celestial favors made her all the more fervent and humble. She died in Rome in 1373 after having returned from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. She practiced mental prayer and meditated often on the life and sufferings of Our Lord Jesus Christ. She founded the Brigittines.
For a long time St. Bridget wanted to know the number of blows Our Lord received during His Passion. He one day appeared to her and said: "I received 5480 blows on My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, say 15 Our Fathers and 15 Hail Marys with the following prayers (which He taught her) for a whole year. When the year is up, you will have honored each one of My Wounds."
Visitors to the Church of St. Paul at Rome can see the crucifix, above the Tabernacle in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, sculptured by Pierre Cavallini, before which St. Bridget knelt when she received these fifteen prayers from Our Lord. The following inscription was placed in the church to commemorate the event: "Pendentis, Pendente Dei verba accepit aure accipit et verbum corde Brigitta Deum. Anno Jubilei MCCCL: (Translation: "Bridget not only receives the words of God hanging in the air, but takes the work of God into her heart. Jubilee Year 1350.")

Magnificent Promises to Saint Bridget of Sweden
Pope Benedict XV expressed himself as follows on the Revelations of St. Bridget:
"The approbation of such revelations implies nothing more than, after mature examination, it is permissible to publish them for the unit of the faithful. Though they don't merit the same credence as the truths of religion, one can, however, believe them out of human faith, conforming to the rules of prudence by which they are probable, and supported by sufficient motives that one might believe in them piously."

The 14th of June 1303, at the moment Bridget was born, Benedict, the curate of Rasbo, prayed for the happy deliverence of Ingeborde. Suddenly, he found himself enveloped by a luminous cloud out of which Our Lady appeared:
"A child has been born at Birger; her voice will be heard by the entire world."

These Prayers and these Promises have been copied from a book printed in Toulouse in 1740 and published by the P. Adrien Parvilliers of the Company of Jesus, Apostolic Missionary of the Holy Land, with approbation, permission and recommendation to distribute them.
Parents and teachers who will read them to young infants for at least one year will assure their being preserved for life from any grave accident which would involve the loss of one of their five senses.
Pope Pius IX took cognizance of these Prayers with the prologue; he approved them May 31, 1862, recognizing them as true and for the good of souls.
This sentence of Pope Pius IX has been confirmed by the realization of promises by all persons who have recited the prayers and by numerous supernatural facts by which God wanted to make known their exact truth. A collection of small books, these prayers among them, was approved by the Great Congress of Malines on August 22, 1863.
Question -- Must one recite the Prayers everyday without interruption to obtain the privileges?
Answer -- If one should miss saying them for one day, one is obliged to start over again, if one doesn't want lose the privileges attached to them, reciting 5480 prayers during the year. One must say them with devotion and concentrate on the words one pronounces.

When the year is finished, you will have honored each of My Wounds."
Our Lord made the following promises to anyone who recited the fifteen St. Bridget Prayers devoutly every day for a whole year:
Promises
1. I will deliver 15 souls of his lineage from Purgatory.
2. 15 souls of his lineage will be confirmed and preserved in grace.
3. 15 sinners of his lineage will be converted.
4. Whoever recites these Prayers will attain the first degree of perfection.
5. 15 days before his death, I will give him My Precious Body in order that he may escape eternal starvation;
I will give him my Precious Blood to drink lest he thirst eternally.
6. 15 days before his death he will feel a deep contrition for all his sins and will have a perfect knowledge of them.
7. I will place before him the sign of My Victorious Cross for his help and defense against the attacks of his enemies.
8. Before his death I shall come with My Dearest Beloved Mother.
9. I shall graciously receive his soul, and will lead it into eternal joys.
10. And having led it there I shall give him a special draught from the fountain of My Deity, something I will not do for those who have not recited My Prayers.
11. Let it be known that whoever may have been living in a state of mortal sin for 30 years, but who will recite devoutly, or have the intention to recite these Prayers, I the Lord will forgive him all his sins.
12. I shall protect him from strong temptations.
13. I shall preserve and guard his five senses.
14. I shall preserve him from a sudden death.
15. His soul will be delivered from eternal death.
16. He will obtain all he asks for from God and the Blessed Virgin.
17. If he has lived all his life doing his own will and he is to die the next day, his life will be prolonged.
18. Every time one recites these Prayers he gains 100 days indulgence.
19. He is assured of being joined to the supreme Choir of Angels.
20. Whoever teaches these prayers to another will have continual joy and merit which will last throughout eternity.
21. There where these Prayers are being said or will be said in the future, God is present with His grace.
The 21 St. Bridget Promises, while traditionally associated with the St. Bridget Prayers, are not covered by an imprimatur. In Jan. of 1954 the Holy Office issued a warning that the supernatural origin of these promises has not been proven.
The Church has always recommended meditations on the Passion of Our Lord. The Blessed Virgin Mary said to St. Bridget: “The consideration of the Passion of my Son ought to be frequently in man's thoughts." St. Bonaventure said: "Let him who desires to attain union with God keep the eyes of his soul ever fixed on Him who hangs dying on the Cross. It's from those wounds of the Saviour that man draws power to suffer not merely with patience but with joy.”
FIFTEEN ST. BRIDGET PRAYERS
First Prayer
Our Father - Hail Mary.
O Jesus Christ! Eternal Sweetness to those who love Thee, joy surpassing all joy and all desire, Salvation and Hope of all sinners, Who hast proved that Thou hast no greater desire than to be among men, even assuming human nature at the fullness of time for the love of men, recall all the sufferings Thou hast endured from the instant of Thy conception, and especially during Thy Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from eternity in the Divine plan.
Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Thy disciples having washed their feet, Thou gavest them Thy Most Precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time Thou didst sweetly console them, Thou didst fortell them Thy coming Passion.
Remember the sadness and bitterness which Thou didst experience in Thy Soul as Thou Thyself bore witness saying: "My Soul is sorrowful even unto death."
Remember all the fear, anguish and pain that Thou didst suffer in Thy delicate Body before the torment of the Crucifixion, when, after having prayed three times, bathed in a sweat of blood, Thou wast betrayed by Judas, Thy disciple, arrested by the people of a nation Thou hadst chosen and elevated, accused by false witnesses, unjustly judged by three judges during the flower of Thy youth and during the solemn Paschal season.
Remember that Thou wast despoiled of Thy garments and clothed in those of derision; that Thy Face and Eyes were veiled, that Thou wast buffeted, crowned with thorns, a reed placed in Thy Hands, that Thou wast crushed with blows and overwhelmed with affronts and outrages.
In memory of all these pains and sufferings which Thou didst endure before Thy Passion on the Cross, grant me before my death true contrition, a sincere and entire confession, worthy satisfaction and the remission all my sins. Amen.
Second Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! True liberty of angels, paradise of delights, remember the horror and sadness which Thou didst endure when Thy enemies, like furious lions, surrounded Thee, and by thousands of insults, spits, blows, lacerations and other unheard-of cruelties, tormented Thee at will. In consideration of these torments and insulting words, I beseech Thee, O my Savior, to deliver me from all my enemies, visible and invisible, and to bring me, under Thy protection, to the perfection of eternal salvation. Amen.
Third Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Creator of Heaven and earth Whom nothing can encompass or limit, Thou Who dost enfold and hold all under Thy loving power, remember the very bitter pain Thou didst suffer when the Jews nailed Thy Sacred Hands and Feet to the Cross by blow after blow with big blunt nails, and not finding Thee in a pitiable enough state to satisfy their rage, they enlarged thy Wounds, and added pain to pain, and with indescribable cruelty stretched Thy Body on the Cross, pulling Thee from all sides, thus dislocating Thy limbs.
I beg of Thee, O Jesus, by the memory of this most Loving suffering of the Cross, to grant me the grace to fear Thee and to Love Thee. Amen.
Fourth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Heavenly Physician, raised aloft on the Cross to heal our wounds with Thine, remember the bruises which Thou didst suffer and the weakness of all Thy Members which were distended to such a degree that never was there pain like unto Thine. From the crown of Thy Head to the Soles of Thy Feet there was not one spot on Thy Body that was not in torment, and yet, forgetting all Thy sufferings, Thou didst not cease to pray to Thy Heavenly Father for Thy enemies, saying: "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."
Through this great Mercy, and in memory of this suffering, grant that the remembrance of Thy Most Bitter Passion may effect in us a perfect contrition and the remission of all our sins. Amen.
Fifth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Mirror of eternal splendor, remember the sadness which Thou experienced, when contemplating in the light of Thy Divinity the predestination of those who would be saved by the merits of Thy Sacred Passion, Thou didst see at the same time, the great multitude of reprobates who would be damned for their sins, and Thou didst complain bitterly of those hopeless, lost, and unfortunate sinners.
Through this abyss of compassion and pity, and especially through the goodness which Thou displayed to the good thief when Thou saidst to him: "This day, thou shalt be with Me in Paradise." I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, that at the hour of my death, Thou wilt show me mercy. Amen.
Sixth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Beloved and most desirable King, remember the grief Thou didst suffer, when naked and like a common criminal, Thou wast fastened and raised on the Cross, when all Thy relatives and friends abandoned Thee, except Thy Beloved Mother, who remained close to Thee during Thy agony and whom Thou didst entrust to Thy faithful disciple when Thou saidst to Mary: "Woman, behold thy son!", and to St. John: "Son, behold thy Mother!".
I beg of Thee O my Savior, by the sword of sorrow which pierced the soul of Thy holy Mother, to have compassion on me in all my afflictions and tribulations, both corporal and spiritual, and to assist me in all my trials, and especially at the hour of my death. Amen.
Seventh Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Inexhaustible Fountain of compassion, Who by a profound gesture of Love, said from the Cross: "I thirst," suffered from the thirst for the salvation of the human race. I beg of Thee, O my Savior, to inflame in our hearts the desire to tend toward perfection in all our acts, and to extinguish in us the concupiscence of the flesh and the ardor of worldly desires. Amen.
Eighth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Sweetness of hearts, delight of the spirit, by the bitterness of the gall and vinegar which Thou didst taste on the Cross for Love of us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Thy Precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that they may serve as a remedy and consolation for our souls. Amen.
Ninth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Royal virtue, joy of the mind, recall the pain Thou didst endure when plunged in an ocean of bitterness at the approach of death, insulted, outraged by the Jews, Thou didst cry out in a loud voice that Thou wast abandoned by Thy Father, saying: "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?"
Through this anguish, I beg of Thee, O my Savior, not to abandon me in the terrors and pains of my death. Amen.
Tenth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Who art the beginning and the end of all things, life and virtue, remember that for our sakes Thou wast plunged in an abyss of suffering from the soles of Thy Feet to the crown of Thy Head. In consideration of the enormity of Thy Wounds, teach me to keep, through pure love, Thy Commandments, whose way is wide and easy for those who love Thee. Amen.
Eleventh Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Deep abyss of mercy, I beg of Thee, in memory of Thy Wounds which penetrated to the very marrow of Thy Bones and to the depth of Thy being, to draw me, a miserable sinner, overwhelmed by my offenses, away from sin and to hide me from Thy Face justly irritated against me; hide me in Thy Wounds, until Thy anger and just indignation shall have passed away. Amen.
Twelfth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Mirror of truth, symbol of unity, link of charity, remember the multitude of wounds with which Thou wast covered from head to foot, torn and reddened by the spilling of Thy adorable Blood. O great and universal pain which Thou didst suffer in Thy virginal flesh for love of us! Sweetest Jesus! What is there that Thou couldst have done for us which Thou hast not done?
May the fruit of Thy sufferings be renewed in my soul by the faithful remembrance of Thy Passion, and may Thy love increase in my heart each day until I see Thee in eternity, Thou Who art the treasury of every real good and every joy, which I beg Thee to grant me, O sweetest Jesus, in Heaven. Amen.
Thirteenth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Strong lion, immortal and invincible King, remember the pain Thou didst endure when all Thy strength, both moral and physical, was entirely exhausted; Thou didst bow Thy Head, saying: "It is consummated."
Through this anguish and grief, I beg of Thee Lord Jesus, to have mercy on me at the hour of my death when my mind will be greatly troubled and my soul will be in anguish. Amen.
Fourteenth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! Only Son of the Father, splendor and figure of His Substance, remember the simple and humble recommendation Thou didst make of Thy Soul to Thy Eternal Father, saying: "Father, into Thy Hands I commend My Spirit!" And with Thy Body all torn, and Thy Heart broken, and the bowels of Thy Mercy open to redeem us, Thou didst expire.
By this Precious Death, I beg of Thee O King of Saints, to comfort me and help me to resist the devil, the flesh and the world, so that being dead to the world, I may live for Thee alone. I beg of Thee at the hour of my death to receive me, a pilgrim and an exile returning to Thee. Amen.
Fifteenth Prayer
Our Father -- Hail Mary.
O Jesus! True and fruitful Vine! Remember the abundant outpouring of blood which Thou didst so generously shed from Thy Sacred Body as juice from grapes in a wine press.
From Thy Side, pierced with a lance by a soldier, blood and water issued forth until there was not left in Thy Body a single drop, and finally, like a bundle of myrrh lifted to the top of the Cross, Thy delicate Flesh was destroyed, the very substance of Thy Body withered, and the marrow of Thy Bones dried up.
Through this bitter Passion, and through the outpouring of Thy Precious Blood, I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, to receive my soul when I am in my death agony. Amen.
Conclusion
O Sweet Jesus! Pierce my heart so that my tears of penitence and love will be my bread day and night; may I be converted entirely to Thee, may my heart be Thy perpetual habitation, may my conversation be pleasing to Thee, and may the end of my life be so praiseworthy that I may merit Heaven and there with Thy saints, praise Thee forever. Amen.
