LM Nguyễn Uy Sỹ mới đi khám nghiệm với bác sĩ giải phẫu xương. Vị bác sĩ chụp hình X-ray và nói rằng ông không thường thấy việc chữa lành như thế này. Ông cho rằng cha Sỹ không cần trải qua cuộc giải phẫu nữa và cũng không cần phải vào bịnh viện ở một tuần nữa.

Cha Sỹ tin rằng việc chữa lành mà không cần giải phẫu có thể là phép lạ qua lời cầu bầu của Thánh  Andre Bessette, CSC, một tu sĩ của Dòng Thánh Giá ở Montreal, Canada và cũng đã được phong thánh vào ngày 19 tháng 2 năm 2012.

Cha Sỹ nhận được dầu thánh từ Đền Thánh St. Andre ở Montreal từ một phụ nữ thường dự lễ ở nhà thờ St. Martin de Porres. Bà này nghe cha Sỹ giảng vào tuần trước đó rồi bà tặng chai dầu thánh cho cha Sỹ và nói rằng bà là một thân nhân của St. Andre. Từ đó cha Sỹ không gặp lại bà ấy nữa.

Dĩ nhiên cha Sỹ cần một thời gian để dưỡng bịnh và cha sẽ cử hành Thánh lễ đầu tiên kể từ tháng 2 năm 2012 cho đến nay vào lúc 8 giờ sang ngày Thứ Tư 17/10/2012.

Dear Friends of Fr Sy,

WONDEFUL NEWS.   Fr Sy has just returned from an appointment with his Orthopedic Surgeon. The doctor took a look at the new X-ray, and exclaimed that he does not see this kind of healing very often. Because of the rapid healing he sees, he does not believe Fr Sy needs bone graft surgery after all. That means the healing is progressing so well on its own, that the complex surgery potentially involving removal of bone material from his hip, and a week's hospital stay, will not be needed.

Fr Sy believes this healing without the need for surgery may be a miracle caused by the intersession of Saint André Bessette, C.S.C., a lay Brother of the Congregation of Holy Cross and a significant figure of the Roman Catholic Church among French-Canadians, credited with thousands of reported miraculous healings. Pope Benedict XVI approved sainthood for Blessed André on February 19, 2010, with the formal canonization taking place on October 17, 2010.

Fr Sy received holy oil from the Shrine of Saint Andre in Montréal from a lady who attended Mass at St Martin de Porres.  She had heard Fr Sys homily the week before,  and gave him the oil and indicated she was a relative of Saint Andre. I don't believe Fr Sy has seen her again,

Fr Sy will need additional, intensive physical therapy, but is allowed to put as much weight on that leg as he can tolerate. He is currently scheduled to celebrate his first Mass in the Church since February, next Wednesday, October 17th at 8:00AM.
