Daylight Saving Time 2010: Time To Spring Ahead! March 12, 2010 07:47 PM Here's a reminder for you folks who have to work this weekend: Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday.
The common expression, "Spring ahead, fall back" refers to Daylight Saving time adjustments depending on the season. With spring approaching, "spring ahead" means we lose an hour of sleep. Great...
At 1:59 a.m. Sunday, clocks move ahead to 3 a.m. This time change occurs on the second Sunday every March, and has been in effect since 1918 when the United States government passed a law.
The reasoning behind Daylight Saving (aka Summer Time) was started as a way for us to make the most of our available daylight hours.
I know I enjoy the "fall back" part of the Daylight Saving expression because, as winter approaches and the daylight gets shorter, we get an additional hour of rest. But, what can you do?
